International Baccalaureate Programme
The Hague School’s application for candidacy for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme was APPROVED as of 16 May 2019! The school’s candidacy period for authorization as an IB World School will formally begin on 1 September 2019 with its inaugural class. IB World Schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education – that we believe is important for our students.
No other private high school in Hampton Roads is an IB Candidate School. At The Hague School, the International Baccalaureate curriculum will be combined with the Harkness conference method of instruction, making it unique in the Mid-Atlantic region and one of only a few worldwide. The Hague Approach aligns with the IB’s aims of creating learners who strive to be: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced, & Reflective. We believe these attributes, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national, and global communities.
