The Hague School’s mission is to empower and prepare secondary students through collaborative dialogue, student-centered learning, and a globally focused curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. We strive to instill a lifelong love of learning, compassion for humanity, and leadership skills for a global society.
Vision
The Hague School offers student-centered learning through collaborative discussion around its conference tables to develop students’ critical thinking, social, and communicative skills in preparation for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to be offered during the 11th and 12th grades. The Hague Approach brings contemporary technology to focused Harkness discussion in all courses and all grades.
At The Hague School, there are no rows of desks.
Students prepare with a master instructor and come to the table ready to actively participate in facilitated peer-to-peer Harkness discussion. This unique dynamic fosters engagement, creativity, and critical thinking. The Hague School faculty includes diverse, experienced educators who balance research-based practice and innovative approaches to teaching and learning with our trademarked conference method approach to instruction. Cross-curricular focus areas offer project-centered and experiential coursework in conjunction with local professionals and businesses, giving students real world experience.
For our students, “worldview” and “international mindedness” are lively terms that connect with faces and names—not as places on a map.
